PROFILE: Meet South Side Rapper Blondzz

The sound has just been changed!

Rapper Brendan ‘BlondZz’ Hendricks was born and raised in Eldorado Park, South of Johannesburg in 1993,the 17th of August. He was known to his friends and family as ‘Ma-B’ as he grew up in a coloured/black populated area. BlondZz began to learn first hand of the ups and downs in life. Influenced by Joshua J-Star Zacheus, a friend who is a well known drummer and artist not only in South Africa but globally. Set on the task to fulfil his dreams, BlondZz managed to start writing his own music at the mere age of 9. Later, after having recorded for the first time he gained momentum and pushed even further. He went even further in showing off his talent in numerous rap battles, open mic sessions and even shared the stage with the likes of Reason, S.A dance sensation Taryn Alberts, CJay Jantzen, DJ Raiko, Jerome ‘Slim’ Duplooy and many more.

BlondZz was coached/ guided by the best of the South. Having made a name for himself he now joined a group called SwagNation and continued to soar even higher as they made a name throughout South Africa, performing at festivals in the Northern Province, clubs such as Vacca Matta, formal functions, launching and creating the music for the 2014 Toyota Corolla and even winning major competitions. After having broken up, he continued in this direction and he was welcomed with nothing but love by two of the South’s biggest local radio stations Kofifi and Eldos Fm, his sound soon started trending creating an even bigger buzz.

Constantly making new music, he is currently working on his “FreeFlow” Ep in which he dabbles with crazy flows and hard hitting lyrics crossing languages from English, to Afrikaans and even Isizulu. Also being a film graduate and photographer, he’s surpassed all borders in entertainment as he’s worked with names such as DJ Warras, Riky Rick, AKA, Da L.E.S, VLokDeGie, King Exo, Mi Casa and many more. All true with verbal assault coming from the South, the direction where this talented artist/performer is going is untouched, but yet set aside for him.
