Alchemy is a new style of event that focuses on bringing you the best in alternative live music & beat production.
In 2016 Alchemy brought down acclaimed Canadian band BADBADNOTGOOD & in 2017 Alchemy aims to take it a step further & boy do we have a special treat for you.
The Alchemy Music Festival spans over 3 Days (30 March -1 April) at 3 different venues, featuring 3 different international acts on each day.
Thursday, March 30th
Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins released his first official mixtape, “The Mickstape” back 2012 releasing his second mixtape “The Pursuit of HappyNess: The Story of Mickalascage” that same year. He released his 3rd mixtape “Trees & Truths” which quickly became a local favorite. In 2014 Mick would then release his 5th mixtape The Water[s] to critical acclaim & considered by many to be Jenkins’ breakout project he would release his 6th project/EP the following year titled Wave[s] as a follow up to The Water[s] before finally releasing his highly anticipated debut album “The Healing Component” which was well received by critics & fans a like. Mick has worked with the likes of Chance The Rapper, Vic Mense, BADBADNOTGOOD & Kaytranada.

Low End Theory
Low End Theory is a weekly experimental hip hop and electronic music club night that takes place every Wednesday at The Airliner in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2006 by producer and Alpha Pup Records label head Daddy Kev, Low End Theory is the “epicenter” of L.A.’s instrumental hip hop scene & has become one of the most influential venues for the ‘beat music’ genre.
Making their way to South Africa will be long-time residents DJ Daddy Kev, (DJ) NOBODY, D-Styles & joining the crew will be Teebs from independent L.A. record label BRAINFEEDER, founded by Flying Lotus.

London born 21 year old singer-songwriter / producer / DJ Tom Misch is considered as one of the most exciting new musical talents emerging out of the industry to date.
Tom’s introduction to music came early from age four where he began to learn the violin, when he turned nine years picked up playing the guitar and by the age of eleven started working on his own compositions after acquiring a loop pedal. At 17-years- old Tom began putting his homemade beats on his new Soundcloud which would lead to the formation of his debut project “Beat Tape 1” following up the musch loved project with the critically acclaimed “Beat Tape 2” in 2015 & his latest offering the “Reverie E.P.” has also become a fan favorite.
