South African rapper/producer Sam Turpin unleashes his debut album “4am in Jozi”
The album is Sam Turpin‘s first full length mixtape since his first two EPs Eternal Sentiment & Wasi-Wasi.
Produced entirely by Turpin himself and containing two features, the album sees Sam take an increasingly musical approach to production and lyric cadence, incorporating both synthesisers and acoustic instruments and both flowing bars and vocal dips.
With content ranging from dealing with the loss of his mother to the current social situation in South Africa, the project explores the general and personal anxieties of global citizen as well as the sense through which someone who has been through something so personal yet still has some empathy for society, looks from the past and towards the future.
