EVENTS: Power Play presents: Koolin In the City ft. Samthing Soweto

The Koolest Sunday rooftop party that brings you the best in Hip Hop, Beats, RnB & live acts under the Jozi skyline.

The year is almost done ya’ll & we can’t begin to express our undying gratitude for all the support our Kool patrons of shown us over the years but we aint done yet!!!

The last Koolin In the City we brought out some of the Koolest live acts around & Stilo Magolide, Ricco & Jay Claude did the damn thang but for this edition we have possible one of the Koolest musicians in the game right now!!!

Kool Out is proud to bring you Samthing Soweto. One of the founding members of the mega successful acapelle music group “The Soil” Samthing parted ways with the group & would go to form the Nu Jazz 3 piece band “The Fridge.” After attaining further recognition with The Fridge the band would unfortunately disband due to members relocating to different countries thus giving Samthing the platform to pursue a solo career. Ever since the Sowetio born musician has steadily built his brand & presence in the industry with multiple guest features on records with artist like Tumi (Stogie-T), Spook Mathambo & Kabomo. Recently Samthing released “Akanamali” with Sun-El Musician that has gained critical success on local radio station across the country & has become the most Shazamed song in South Africa.

So don’t miss out on the chance to catching Samthing Soweto LIVE on the Koolin stage.

Also sharing the stage with Samthing Soweto on the night we have young & exciting producer/rapper Hopemasta. Hope is no stranger to the industry having produced mega hits like Reason’s No Sleep & Bump The Cheese Up, he released his first beat tape titled “The Beatsmith” & has continued to grow as an artist in his own right. In 2017 Hope released his solo EP “Mastapieces” to favorable reviews the project saw Hopemasta take center stage as a recording artist while also producing the entire project on his own.

But what’s a Kool Out party without its selectors?

Making his Koolin In The City debut is international & versatile DJ PH. Having recently signed under Black Coffee’s Soulistic Music record label, PH is known for his creativity & party rocking DJ sets so make sure you have your dancing shoes on.

We also have Cape Town DJ Mark Akol on deck supported by our Koolin residents Akio, P-Kuttah & Speedsta.
