SNEAKER LIFE: Under Armour HOVR Phantom

Taking the HOVR Phantom runner to SunshineCo.Jozi this past first Thursdays, giving dibs to some local sneaker enthusiasts, Under Armour unleashed their highly anticipated runner silhouette that boasts of innovation technology.

Employing a new cushioning system, unbelievably awesome in its nature – HOVR is changing the game. Distinct from the traditional EVA technology and capitalising on well-known deficiencies, HOVR comes correct promising more cushioning, it’s a well-articulated response to the call made by athletes for softer foam to promote that added resilience.

The truth behind this innovative cushioning system began years back when the search by AU for a midsole material that would perform just as well on the 100th run as it did out of the box. HOVR is infused with Olefin, wax-like synthetic material, which is incredibly strong and light.

AU is all about the feeling underneath the feet, which they believe is where the fun begins for any athlete. Hitting 2018 in beast mode, the Phantom is a knit styled runner which sets the brand miles apart. The construction flexes a knit bootie and stylish ankle cuff, which delivers a soft, plush ride, probably due to the HOVR midsole, which is used throughout this silhouette.

Get your HOVR Phantom pair at the following Under Armour stores: Mall of Africa, Menlyn Park, Sandton City and the V&A Waterfront,

Keep your eyes and ears Locked to AU as they slam dunk the runner sneaker lane.
