ALBUM REVIEW: Cardi B – Invasion of Privacy [Video]

Said lil’ bitch , you can’t fuck with me if you wanted to, these expensive, this is red bottoms, these is bloody shoes” , this is that one line that you hear being shouted in clubs (by males too) and you would already know its about to get lit!

That’s right, Cardi B finally dropped her long awaited album “Invasion Of Privacy”, and its short time of release, she has cemented her star status.

The Bronx rapper is no stranger to making history, as her first Single “Bodak Yellow “ has already been the longest No.1 song on the Billboard 200 Chart by a Female, lasting 3 weeks, surpassing Lauryn Hills Doo woop(That thing) which lasted 2 weeks in on the charts in 1998. She is also tied with Beyonce with the most songs on the charts simultanouesly and she continues to break ground.

Upon release, you could not ignore the hype and praise on social media from artists from many different genres giving props to Cardi, with rock band Green Day even suggesting they would like to work with the hitmaker. So we had to check up on all this hype and lay facts…it’s only fair

Now to be honest, the main question on our minds was whether Cardi B would be more than a fly by night, that we’ll forget about in a year…and the answer is NAH!!! From track one, you’re already bobbing your head, ready to twerk on a table, as all her singles have made us do. She meticulously mixed her life experiences with her original trap/turn up sound. She exposes a softer side of her on tracks like Ring which features Kehlani and I do featuring SZA, that show that despite her being portrayed as hood, she still has stories that most ordinary women can relate to. With features from Migos , Chance the Rapper and 21 Savage as well, she still gives us the sassy, don’t give a fuck, party all day Cardi we fell in love with on Love and Hip-Hop.

With the album already gold, baby on the way, baby daddy Offset, tied with Beyonce with the most songs on the Billboard charts and having Nicki Minaj(one of Cardi’s biggest rivals) announce she’s dropping an album “coincidentally” a week or so after hers, it goes to show that she is someone that everyone would want to be right now. And who could blame them, Cardi’s winning streak is on auto pilot.

Check it out, let us know what you think below.
