Last week Friday, Kool Out celebrated 10 years in the game & if you attended our celebration party at The Good Luck Bar then you know just how much of a jump it was!!!
On the night we showcased a mini documentary titled “A Kool Out Story”that was shot & directed by Tseliso Monaheng.
Tseliso Monaheng is a freelance writer born in Maseru. He spends his spare time photographing and videographing things. His work stretches across the realms of print, on-line, television, and the gallery space. He’s collaborated with a range of artists on self-initiated projects for over ten years.
Peep his website for a peak into what he’s done.
Tseliso had this to say about the documentary: “I’ve wanted to pay homage to Kool Out during the period between 2008-2012. It’s the time I lived in Cape Town, and a time which, in retrospect, was vital to the development of Cape Town hip hop in that a lot of things — a lot of ‘firsts’ — happened.”
