Producer S1 (aka Symbolyc One) has worked with some of the biggest and brightest in Hip-Hop recently spilled the beans on a super-group that is being formed with three highly-respected O.G.’s of Rap.
Black Thought, Phonte, & Rhymefest have come together as a group & have been in the studio recording. “We’ve been knocking out songs for that [particular project], I’m excited about that. [It is] really dope stuff.” S1 said in an interview with Hip Hop DX.
All of these MCs have had penchants for collaborative side-projects. Besides his co-founding role in Little Brother, Phonte teamed with Eric Roberson for 2016’s Tigallero album. Outside of The Roots, Black Thought previously co-founded the Money Making Jam Boys with Dice Raw, Truck North, P.O.R.N., and STS. Rhymefest is in a group with DJ Jazzy Jeff, Dayne Jordan, and Uhmeer known as The Trinity.
Although there is no official word on the group’s name as of now, Phonte did take to his Instagram (below) to confirmed the report.
