Sam Turpin is a rapper and producer from Johannesburg, South Africa. In March 2014, after some self made music videos (namely “Cranes” and “Jo’burg City”) and a single release, he released his debut EP “Eternal Sentiment” after playing his first show in Rosebank to a private audience.
Since then he’s collaborated with fellow Jo’burg/Cyprus producer ILLA NJO on a project called “Cold Chinese Food” and have been fortunate to play a few live shows and make some radio appearances showcasing both projects.
In August he released his latest single featuring Lenny-Dee, lead singer of Bye Beneco, titled “Gratuit”. Due to some great feedback for the EP and one of it’s tracks “Alexandrie” he shot a music video for it with Jozi videographer Austin Malema which was released on the 30th of December 2014.
In January he had the chance to collaborate with Barcardi house master DJ Spoko on his first release from his next LP titled “War Neva End”.
Sam says that he is greatly inspired by the work of his mother, late photographer Gisèle Wulfsohn and his twin brother Joe who is visual artist, he is also currently focusing on my next project as well as his studies in Anthropology.
