Look, there have been some solid posthumous albums released over the years, so I don’t mean to be a huge grump here. However, the successful after-death projects have typically been completed or just-about-completed before the artist died while the failures tend to be those that are scraped together as a means of grabbing some quick cash. Now, I don’t know if that’s the case here, but I can’t help but feel some type of way after learning that Faith Evans is putting together a “duets” album with the late Notorious B.I.G.
For those unaware of the two’s connection, they were married prior to Biggie’s death and worked together a number of times, so there’s obviously a natural connection there. However, I… just don’t really get down with stuff like this. Anyway, she’s tentatively titled it The King and I and told HipHollywood that we should “Think Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole.” OK.
