Family First is a hip hop trio consisting of Batsile Ramasodi (Boywonder), Xolile Guqaza(Xrated) and Itumeleng Mofokeng (Base1). The team has recently finished their EP album titled: #FamilyFirst.
The EP includes some of the best South African hip hop pioneers, music producers, engineers, videographers and technicians , who complete the conglomerate namely: Ludwig Bouwer, Inyambo Imenda (Nyambz), Dave Balsher (Draztik), Wayne Robertson (Hipe), Tumelo Mathebula (Tweezy), Thato Mabokela (Dynamic), Sivuyile David Notywala (Mananz), Benny Mtshweni (Thirteen), Andile Fiphaza (Zoocci) and Thabang Moloto (PaperCutt)
As one of the members of the Spaza Shop Boyz, Jonny Joburg made a lot of noise on the alternative Hip Hop scene before going solo. Last year, he released the single “Mazishe” which was well received by both heads and radio. Recently, Jonny Joburg has gone to the U.S. and was seen on video dropping accapellas for some of the biggest names in the industry. His new single “Michael Jackson” premiered on Live Amp and has been getting considerable buzz. You can check it out below:
Uno July rose to prominence with the celebrated Cape Town duo ILL Skillz dropping what many consider a classic with their debut album “Off The Radar”. Since that time, he has recorded in London and performed at several high profile events such as the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. As a member of one of SA’s most influential crews Optical Illusion, Golden Shovel has always been noted for his lyrical prowess. Hailing from The Vaal, he released his debut album “The Lost Gospels” in 2012. Golden Shovel also has the notoriety of being the first featured artist at a Johannesburg Kool Out Lounge.
