NEWS: Here’s What Fugees’ ‘The Score’ Sounds Like With Only Lauryn Hill

Today is Lauryn Hill‘s 40th birthday, and one of the best ways to celebrate is to pretend she’s been a solo artist all along. A writer for Uproxx was curious about what a Lauryn Hill solo album focused on hip-hop would sound like, so he edited the classic Fugees record The Score to remove Pras and Wyclef Jean. The result is a surprisingly cohesive, 26-minute version with Hill as the one and only star. Now you have to decide if it’s good enough to make you turn your back on the original.

Listen to the Lauryn Hill only edit of The Score below.
